OUR APPROACH

At the Whole Health Naturopathic Clinic our naturopathic doctors believe in treating the whole person by doing a comprehensive health history intake.  This includes a review of signs and symptoms, detailed medical history, test results, and review of any previous testing performed. Your naturopathic doctor will integrate this into an individual assessment and treatment plan which may include dietary changes, lifestyle changes, herbal medicine, vitamin and mineral supplementation.

TESTING

There are a number of tests available to us to assess digestive health concerns.  The first is a Food sensitivity test and the second is a comprehensive stool analysis with parasitology.

FOOD SENSITIVITY TESTING

Often patients are struggling to identify which foods are causing their symptoms.  By doing a food sensitivity test we can help to narrow down which foods could be triggering the immune system to overreact, and therefore, causing or aggravating a patient’s symptoms.  For example, dairy products can be a big culprit in many digestive complaints. This is a blood test, and can test up to 220 foods.

COMPREHENSIVE DIGESTIVE STOOL ANALYSIS WITH PARASITOLOGY

The comprehensive stool analysis with parasitology is extremely beneficial in identifying digestive deficiencies, bacterial flora imbalances, presence of parasites, yeast overgrowth, viral pathogens, inflammation in the bowel, overall immune function, and blood in the stool.  Once we know what imbalances are present for a patient, we can move on to making the appropriate treatment recommendations. Patients with parasites, as an example, will experience multiple digestive problems and systemic symptoms. Among these symptoms are often fatigue, muscle and joint pain, and low tolerance for many foods. This comprehensive analysis allows us to know exactly what we are treating so that we can choose the most appropriate, patient-centered treatments to relieve the body of all adverse symptoms.
